American Beauty Development, a member of the First Financial Group of companies, is the next generation in a long line of family owned and operated real estate companies. For over 50 years, the First Financial Group of companies have been entitling, developing, and building residential and commercial projects.

The affiliates of First Financial Group include American Beauty Development Co., American Beauty Development, LLC., Southwestern Financial Corp., Encino Plaza Partnership, and American Beauty Homes. The first American Beauty Homes were built by Jack Shine and his privately held company, Calwood Homes, in 1963.

In 1969, Mr. Shine and Calwood Homes joined with another development company and a major Texas mortgage banker to form a public homebuilding company that operated in four southwestern states.

In 1972, Mr. Shine left the public corporation and founded the privately held First Financial Group of Companies, which has continued to entitle, develop, and build homes and commercial developments.

Mr. Shine was joined by John Morrisette in 1981, and by his son, Daniel Shine, in 1994. Together they founded American Beauty Development, LLC.
